Swedish Relaxation Massage
Swedish massage is the basic technique that most people think of when they think of a massage. Swedish massage features long, graceful strokes which increase circulation and blood-flow, decrease muscle tension, relieve muscular spasm and pain, and reduce swelling and inflammation contributing to a feeling of calm and relaxation. The basic philosophy of Swedish massage is to manipulate the soft tissue for therapeutic purposes to enhance the body's tendency to heal itself. Swedish massage strokes and principles may be combined with other techniques based on your specific needs.

deep_massageDeep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue Massage is a focused massage that reaches deeper layers of soft tissue. It is especially effective in working a specific joint, muscle, or muscle group, and is a good option for clients with specific needs. This massage releases chronic patterns of tension in the body through long slow strokes and deep finger pressure on tensed areas. This technique improves body alignment and freedom of movement.  It is typically combined with Swedish relaxation massage.

Trigger Point
Applies concentrated finger pressure to tender areas in the muscle in order to break the cycle of spasm and pain. This is often combined with Deep Tissue Massage and sometimes with Swedish Relaxation.

Myofascial Release
A mild and gentle hands on form of stretching which relieves connective tissue restrictions all over the body promoting strength, flexibility, range of motion and proper alignment. It releases chronic problems and reduces pain. This is typically combined with Deep Tissue and Swedish Massage.

Pregnancy Massage
This nurturing, comforting massage session is specially designed for the mother-to- be.
Pregnancy massage has many benefits; it reduces stress, promotes relaxation, and relieves muscle spasms, cramps and pain - especially in the lower back, neck, hips, and legs. It reduces the strain on weight bearing joints, reduces water retention and helps to improve breathing. It improves the lymphatic system and stimulates circulation which provides more oxygen and nutrients to both mother and fetus and helps to prevent varicose veins. Massage helps the expectant mother to be more relaxed and able to sleep more easily and deeply. Endorphins released during massage help relieve depression and anxiety and have been found to be especially beneficial for the fetus as well.

Infant Massage

This Infant massage session teaches parents and caregivers how to massage their child - beginning at age three weeks to three years old. Sessions can be from 30 minutes to an hour.

Infant massage reduces stress and tension for both parties. It releases oxytocin the nurturing hormone, promotes circulation, increasing the flow and efficiency of the body systems - blood, lymph, etc. It promotes healing, stimulating and utilizing the body's own natural resources. It increases attachment and bonding, creating a special relationship to last a lifetime. Infant massage soothes and relieves gastrointestinal discomfort and symptoms of colic.
